Phoenix Brophy (10-2) vs. Chandler Hamilton (12-0)
From Staff Reports
Time: 7 p.m.
Address: McClintock High School, 1830 E. Del Rio Drive, Tempe

Key matchup: Chandler Hamilton is at maximum potency with Justin Peters at quarterback and Gerell Robinson at receiver. Then the Huskies have two burners in Robinson and Drew Terrell, plus Nathan Jeffrey and Covaughn DeBoskie in the backfield, and Peters can run the option. Both defenses featured inexperienced juniors in August. Both are among the best since, but the Broncos appear to have less margin for error. Can defensive coordinator Gary Galante’s group find Hamilton’s flaws from previous playoff games and neutralize this many Hamilton weapons?
Key stat: Brophy was the last Arizona team to beat Hamilton dating back to the 2005 state championship.
The intrigue: Six weeks ago, this might have been a blowout, but Brophy has been rolling on both sides of the ball, and Hamilton has shown itself to be vulnerable in playoff games against Mesa Westwood and Gilbert Mesquite. With a couple breaks and no mistakes, Brophy is more than capable of ending Hamilton’s mini-dynasty.
