Sean Renfree de-committing from Georgia Tech

From Staff Reports

Scottsdale Notre Dame quarterback Sean Renfree has de-committed from Georgia Tech and will reopen his recruitment, coach Scot Bemis said on Saturday.

Georgia Tech recently fired Chan Gailey — the coach that recruited Renfree — and hired Navy’s Paul Johnson, a coach known for his triple-option offense. Renfree is a pcoket passer.

“It’s not a passing offense,” Bemis said. “It doesn’t suit him at all.”

Bemis said he would sit down with Renfree this week and discuss his options. Arizona State is in the mix for Renfree.

“He’s got some real good offers,” Bemis said. “He wants to sit back and re-analyze everything.”
