Scottsdale Chaparral fared well at the Chandler Badminton Invitational on Saturday, as two Firebirds captured the top two spots in the singles competition

Liz Hudson, who was one-half of the 4A state champions in doubles last year, finished first, and Katie Conti finished second for Chaparral.

The Firebirds, the defending 4A state team champions, also got a third-place finish in doubles from Stacy McGuire and Ashleigh Foltz.

Phoenix Xavier’s Amelia Tsui was third in singles.

Chandler’s Olivia Li and Kristen Morrisey were the top team in doubles, followed by Keli Bridinger and Jenny Tighe of Scottsdale Horizon.
