Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep brought the city some more hardware, winning its second straight 4A-II title with a 30-26 victory over Tucson Santa Rita, also at Sun Devil Stadium.

In the 4A-I game, Erik Brown ran for 199 yards, Beau Burton had 138 yards and the defense came up with four interceptions as Saguaro (14-0) won its third straight state crown.

"This is a great ending," Burton said. "A bunch of us are going on to play at the next level (in college), but this means so much to us. It's amazing."

Saguaro scored on its second play from scrimmage, a 66-yard touchdown run by Brown, and pulled away from there.

Chaparral quarterback Spencer Stone was knocked out of the game in the second quarter with a broken collarbone and leading rusher Dwayne Garrett was ejected for throwing a punch in the third quarter.

Saguaro has won four straight over Chaparral and knocked the Firebirds out of the state tournament each of the last two years.

"It's tough to walk over here four times in two years, being 0-4," said Chaparral coach Charlie Ragle, who took over in 2007. "This isn't easy to do. You've got to give them all the credit in the world."

In the day's earlier game, running backs Andrew Stutz and Patrick Foley combined for 354 rushing yards and three touchdowns and Andy Wilder had two interceptions as Notre Dame completed the first undefeated (14-0) season in school history.
